A Visit with Brian Viveros

Earlier this week, I paid a visit to fellow Inland Empire homie Brian Viveros at his home studio as he prepared for his upcoming September show at Last Rites Gallery in New York.  As always, I was blown away by his workspace as he surrounds himself with things he is passionate about.  It’s inspiring to see how he stays true to what he loves, his culture, and his interests and is able to incorporate this into all his paintings.

Take a look at some more pics after the jump…

Statue of Liberty painting for New York. He had to do it.

Tools of the trade.

Did you know he uses stencils for some parts of his painting like the tears here done with airbrush.

Smoking break. You can see talented AM photographer, writer, and videographer Carlos Gonzalez to the right.

"Exit Through the Gift Shop" was playing on the TV.

His favorite Cigar.

More tools. Including his smokes.

A drawing lying around. Brian is considering taking bullfighting lessons.

Some reading inspiration on the bookcase.

Wrestlers!

A special Viveros brand. But no cigs inside.

Thanks having us Mr. Viveros and thanks for the onion dip.  Me and Carlos head off to visit another IE friend next.  More on that later…

Discuss Brian Viveros here.
