I recently found myself with these two new bottles of KAWS x Hennessy collaborations thanks to my friend Stephen. Wasn’t sure I wanted to go this route but once I had these, I’m kinda obligated to hunt down other artist x alcohol label joint projects as well. So, I found myself purchasing this Hirst x Somerset Brandy bottle, and now I’m lusting after some of the previously covered ETOH bottles as well like the wine bottles from James Jean and the Dos Equis collaboration with KAWS.

This will not end well for my wallet…

Luke Chueh – Facepaint Panda

Here is a little sneak peek at a piece from a show I have a part in curating in at the end of next month at the Above Second Gallery in Hong Kong. At Baby Tattooville last weekend, Luke Chueh sketched out the painting he’ll be putting in the group show. Featuring Asian artists or artists that use Asian-influenced imagery, one of the themes explored will be identity crisis in those who have allegiances to two cultures (hence his sad bear painting itself to look like a panda).

Josh Keyes in NY

One of my favorite artist, Josh Keyes, will be heading to NY for a solo at Jonathan LeVine Gallery next month. Unfortunately, I will be in Orlando that weekend, but this partial shot of what looks like a huge piece is making me even more sad that I will be missing this show. Check this show out in person if you can.

I’m a big fan of the Simpsons and Futurama so I was star-struck when I finally met Matt Groening. He was nice enough to do a pretty sweet sketch for me as well. This was during the Heroes & Villains book release and signing in downtown LA and you can take a look at more pics here if you are interested. I was a little uncomfortable with the area though as I had to walk alone at night to get to the venue from where I parked near skid row, especially with my very visible limp.

Shepard Fairey – Flour Sack PIllow

I received the OBEY flour sackpillow I ordered today which features a hand sprayed design and is signed by Shepard Fairey. I had to replace the KAWS pillow that one of my friends took a fancy to when he stopped by my house the other day. You can buy one here if you want still.
